Toor Dal Onion Chutney / Ullipaya Kandi Pachadi

ullipaya kandi pachadiIngredients :

  • 1 small cup Toor Dal
  • 1/2 small lime size Tamarind 
  • 1 Onion roughly chopped
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 4 Red Chilles
  • 1 sp Ghee
  • Salt to taste

Preparation :

  • Heat ghee in a pan add toor dal, red chillies & fry on low flame.
  • Saute them until golden brown in color, remove from the pan and allow it to cool.
  • Grind fried toor dal mixture along with cumin seeds, tamarind, salt by adding enough water into a coarse paste.
  • Now add chopped onion and grind slightly then transfer into a serving bowl.
  • Ullipaya kandi pachadi is ready to serve, serve with hot rice.
