Alu Double Beans Curry




Ingredients :

  • 1/2 cup cooked Alu pieces
  • 1/2 cup Double Beans
  • 2 Onions chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes chopped
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/2 sp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 sp Coriander Powder
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 sp Garam Masala Powder
  • 1/2 sp Sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 3 sp Oil
  • Coriander Leaves

Preparation :

  • Wash and soak double beans for 8 hours or over night.
  • Pressure cook the beans for 5 to 6 whistles and keep aside.
  • Open cooker when it has cooled down & strain away the water.
  • Keep away the stock/water for curry, grind chopped onion, tomatoes into a fine paste.
  • Heat oil in a khadai add cumin seeds and fry, add ginger garlic paste & stir.
  • Now add ground onion tomato paste and stir, fry until the raw smell goes.
  • Add salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder, sugar and mix well.
  • Add cooked double beans, potato pieces, red chilli, garam masala powder & stir well.
  • Add stock or 1/2 cup of water to it & let it cook for couple of mins.
  • Once done add chopped coriander leaves and turn off the flame.
  • Alu double beans curry is ready, serve with roti or pooris.
