Mango Garlic Chutney / Mamidikaya Vellulli Pachadi



Ingredients :

  • 1 small Mango / Pachi Mamidikaya
  • 6 Green Chillies cut into middle
  • 4 or 5 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1/4 sp Methi Seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 sp Oil

For Popu :

  • 1/4 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/4 sp Urad Dal

Preparation :

  • Wash mango and peel the skin and cut into small pieces.
  • Heat oil in a pan add urad dal, mustard, methi seeds and fry.
  • Add chopped green chillies, garlic cloves & stir.
  • Stir until the green chillies are soft, then remove from pan.
  • Grind fried green chillies mix, salt, turmeric powder into a paste.
  • Add chopped mango pieces and grind slightly.
  • Heat 1 sp oil in a small frying pan add popu and fry.
  • When they splutter add it to ground chutney and mix well.
  • Now mango vellulli pachadi is ready to serve.
  • This chutney is served along with ghee and hot rice.
