Rice Rava Iidly / Biyyam Rava Idly





Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Urad Dal
  • 2 cups Rice Rava / Biyyam Nooka
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 pinch Cooking Soda (optional )

Preparation :

  • Wash soak urad dal in water for 2 or 3 hours and drain.
  • Grind the soaked urad dal to a fine paste in a blender & transfer it to a bowl.
  • Add rice rava to ground urad dal paste and combine well.
  • Cover and keep aside to ferment over night.
  • Once the batter is fermented add salt, cooking soda & mix well.
  • Add enough water to the fermented batter until you have a pouring consistency.
  • Grease the idly plates with little ghee / oil and fill with the batter.
  • Place the idly plates in the idly cooker and cook for 10 to 15 mins.
  • Once done turn off the heat & leave it for 2 to 3 mins & remove them.
  • Now biyyapa rava idly is ready to serve, serve hot with chutney, sambar.
