Thotakura Biriyani / Amarnath Leaves Biriyani

Ingredients :

  • 1 cup Rice
  • 11/2 cup chopped Thotakura Leaves
  • 1 Carrot chopped
  • 1 Potato chopped
  • 4 Green Chillies chopped
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 1 sp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • Dry Garam Masala
  • (Cloves, Elaichi, Dalchini, Bay leaf)
  • 1 sp Lemon Juice
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 sp Oil

Preparation :

  • Wash rice and soak in water for 10 to 15 mins and keep aside.
  • Clean wash thotakura and chop into small pieces & keep them aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan add dry garam masala and stir then add curry leaves.
  • Add onion, green chillies and fry until the onions are soft.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, chopped vegetables and saute for couple of mins.
  • Next add chopped thotakura & mix thoroughly.
  • Keep frying the whole thing over medium flame, finally add soaked rice, salt & mix it well.
  • Then transfer the whole mixture to rice cooker and add 2 cups of water and cook.
  • When done remove the lid and add lemon juice, coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Now thotakura / amarnath leaves biriyani is ready to serve, serve hot.
