Tomato Pulihora



Ingredients :

  • 1cup Cooked Rice
  • 2 no Tomatoes
  • 2 inches Tamarind Flake
  • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
  • 1/4 sp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 sp grated Jaggery
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 sp Chana Dal
  • 1 sp Urad Dal
  • 2 Red Chillies crocked
  • fistful Peanuts
  • 1 pinch Inguva
  • Curry Leaves
  • 4 sp Oil

Preparation :

  • Wash and cut tomatoes into small pieces.
  • Grind tomatoes along with soaked tamarind to a thick juice.
  • Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry.
  • Once done add green chillies, curry leaves and stir.
  • Next add ground tomato juice, turmeric, red chilli powder and jaggery.
  • Cook for about 5-7 mins till the tomato juice becomes a thick paste.
  • Then add cooked rice and mix well, let it cook for 30 sec.
  • Now tomato pulihora is ready, transfer into a serving bowl and serve.
