Radish Onion Moong Dal Curry / Mullangi Ullipaya Pesara Curry




Ingredients :

  • 2 nos Mullangi / Radish
  • 2 sp Moong Dal
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 2 Green Chillies chopped
  • 2 or 3 Garlic Cloves crushed
  • 1 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 sp Red Chilli Powder
  • Salt to taste

For Popu :

  • 1/2 sp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 sp Chana Dal
  • 1/2 sp Urad Dal
  • 1 Red Chilli crocked
  • Curry Leaves
  • 2 sp Oil

Preparation :

  • Wash, peel radish and cut into small pieces, wash and soak moong dal for 10 mins. 
  • Cook radish pieces on stove top along with salt and turmeric powder.
  • Next add moong dal and cook, when it is 3/4 done, remove from fire and strain.
  • Heat oil in a pan add popu ingredients and fry for 2 mins.
  • Add crushed garlic, curry leaves, green chillies, onions and stir.
  • Fry it till the onions are soft then add cooked radish mixture and stir.
  • Add red chilli powder and stir well, fry for couple of mins then transfer into a serving bowl.
  • Now mullangi ullipaya pesara pappu kura is ready to serve, serve hot with rice.
